WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
When we first decided to farm organically, it was because we wanted to contribute to the variety of organic food that is available to the public. Organic farming is not about “doing business as usual”; higher production and labor cost makes operating the farm challenging. But, we are hopeful that raised awareness will lead to increased demand and, over time, support organic products at prices that are recognized as appropriate for the value received.
As more food borne illnesses are reported, consumers need to know more about the farming and handling practices of the food they are buying. Answering that need, we think organic farmers may become the rock stars of this century. We at Manzanita Manor Organics in Paso Robles, California are committed to providing high quality, certified organic products. Knowing that no fungicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizer, or hormones are being used on the farm is, for many people, an important consideration in purchasing our certified organic walnuts and organic port-style wine.
For an after dinner treat, indulge in our Paso Robles organic wine. This organic Port style wine has been organically grown and tended. Our Portuguese varietals are combined with organic brandy to create a balanced organic wine that is pleasing to a large audience, without the overly sweet taste of many traditional port wines. All processing and handling is completely organic with no sulfites added and no filtering, so that the product is also vegan.
The health benefits from eating approximately 1.5 ounces of raw walnuts per day are well documented. Our rich, creamy organic walnuts make that idea a pleasure.
